The story of Todabhim

Todabhim is a city and municipality in Karauli district in Rajasthan, and it also serves as the headquarters of its sub division, tehsil and C&RD block. What makes it stand out is its long political history: Todabhim was established by Bodamalji Ushara in 302 AD. He was from the Ushara clan of the Meena tribe, which ruled over Bundi.

After that, the Meenas of the Ushahara gotra were defeated by the Meenas of Jorwal gotra, and the rule of Jorwal gotra started here. Todabhim is also described as a prominent historical site, and Shri Jagannath Singh Ji’s family is believed to have ruled here for over 500 years.

Today this is a human settlement spread over 14.23 square kilometre, so you are standing in a functioning town rather than a preserved ruin. If you are planning to come or move on from here, Todabhim is accessible by road and by rail. Balaji mod bus stop on National Expressway 21 is 7 km away, and bus services connect to Agra and Jaipur. The main railheads are Bandikui Jn on the Delhi-Jaipur section and Hindaun city on the Delhi-Kota section of Indian railways, about 45 km both from there. Jaipur international airport is the nearest airport.
