The story of Neharpar

Neharpar is the name used for the newly developed Sectors 66 to 89 in Faridabad, and the most striking thing about it is that you are standing in a planned urban corridor rather than an older, already-settled part of the city. It is also called Greater Faridabad, and the area lies opposite the Agra Canal to the older city of Faridabad.

The layout is divided by use: Sector 66 to 74 are Industrial Sectors, while Sector 75 to 89 are Residential Sectors. That split helps explain the character of the place around you, where wide roads, tall buildings, malls, educational institutions, and commercial centers are part of the development. Britannica is not the source here, but the place is presented as one of the largest planned development corridors in the eastern region of the city.

The area was brought under Faridabad’s master plan in 2004-05, and that is the point when investors began to see it as a future real estate hub. Since then, it has grown into one of the city’s newer urban districts. Faridabad has also received a huge amount of central funding from Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission, which forms part of the wider push behind the city’s growth.

If you are looking for what stands out here today, the area hosts the Asia's largest medical institute, Amrita Hospital, with a capacity of more than 2600 beds and 81 specialties. It was inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 28 August 2022. Neharpar also includes some of the city’s notable educational institutions, including Modern DPS school and Shiv nadar School.

For visitors and residents, Omaxe World Street is the largest shopping complex of the area. It includes a food court, gaming area, smart offices, and pubs, so it functions as one of the main commercial magnets in Greater Faridabad.

The practical thing to notice as you look around is how strongly this place is shaped by planned growth: industrial sectors in one stretch, residential sectors in another, and major institutions set within a broad new urban framework. If you are trying to understand Neharpar quickly, think of it as Faridabad’s newer face, built for expansion rather than tradition, with the canal-side location marking its separation from the older city.
