The story of Neharpar

Neharpar, also known as Greater Faridabad, is the newly developed stretch of Sectors 66 to 89 in Faridabad, and the most striking thing about it is how much of it has been planned as a fresh city expansion rather than an old settlement.

The area is divided by use: Sectors 66 to 74 are industrial sectors, while Sectors 75 to 89 are residential sectors. That makes this a place where industry and housing sit in different bands of the same larger development. The residential core runs from Sector 75 to Sector 89, and the first wave of licensed group-housing projects brought tens of thousands of flats through the 2010s. Plotted colonies and builder floors followed in later sectors, especially from 84 to 89.

What you can see around you is the logic of a fast-built urban district: wide roads, tall buildings, malls, educational institutions, and commercial centers. Omaxe World Street is described as the largest shopping complex of the area, with food court, gaming area, smart offices, and pubs aimed at major night out visitors. The area also hosts some of the city’s better-known educational institutions, including Modern DPS school and Shiv nadar School.

One of the biggest landmarks in Greater Faridabad is Amrita Hospital, described as Asia's largest medical institute, with a capacity of more than 2600 beds and 81 specialties. It was inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 28 August 2022. In a developing district like this, a hospital of that scale is not just a building but a major anchor for daily life, services, and traffic.

The geography matters here too. Greater Faridabad sits east of the Agra and Gurgaon canals, and almost every commute to old Faridabad, Delhi or Gurugram begins by crossing them. That position helps explain why land on this side was cheap and assembled quickly after 2008, while the towers rose before the roads, water lines, and transit were fully in place.

Trunk infrastructure is now handled by the Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority, which took over master roads and water supply from the municipal corporation. Faridabad also has a huge amount of central funding coming from Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission, which is part of the larger urban background behind the development you are standing in.
