Mahadevapura Lake Park is the small lake space in GARUDACHAR PALYA, marked on BBMP’s park page at 1 Acre 40.0 Guntha, with the entrance point listed at 12.993393,77.685037. The most striking thing here is that this is not just open ground: BBMP’s lake material ties Mahadevapura Lake to a major rejuvenation effort, and the park page shows it is now maintained under Hasiru Mithra.

Britannica-style context is not needed here; the practical story is the one around the water. BBMP describes the larger Mahadevapura lake, next to Outer Ring Road and adjacent to Bagmane Tech Park, as part of the Varthur lake series that drains southward to its downstream Doddanekundi lake. That same page says the lake had dried up and later became a natural sewage deposition node as the area developed. It also records a multi-stakeholder restoration effort: desilting, a primary wastewater diversion channel, restoration of the bund, and an MLD DEWATS treatment system with a well designed diversion structure.

A CDD India report adds that in 2016 BBMP built hydraulic structures to divert wastewater entering the lake, and that United Way of Bangalore brought in tech firms to fund a wastewater treatment plant designed by CDD Society.

The park is open daily from 5:00 – 10:00 AM and 4:00 – 6:30 PM, so the best time to look is early morning or late afternoon.
